Jimmy Holmes - Co Owner - Head Instructor
Coach Jimmy began his martial arts journey under Master George Stefanescu at the age of 10 and earned his black belt at the age of 16. He now holds a 3rd Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt) in Taekwondo. He has trained under Master Jim Stoval and most notably, Grand Master Park. Jimmy is extensively training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and hold a black belt. He has competed in over 150 tournaments for Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and MMA on both national and international levels! He is also a referee for tournaments and conducts seminars and workshops on self defense. He opened Global Martial Arts in Tomball in 2004 where he has promoted numerous students to Black Belt. His current and former students also include several AAU National Champions. He attended Concordia High School and went on to attend the University of Houston where he ran track. He is active in the surrounding communities working with special needs children and teaching Bible study to 5th and 6th grade students. His commitment to further developing his own martial arts skills and sharing that knowledge with others is always ongoing.
Hope Holmes - Co Owner - Head Taekwondo and Kickboxing Instructor
Coach Hope is a co-owner and head instructor at Global Martial Arts. She is a mom to two amazing kids! Coach Hope is currently a 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant! She has been teaching martial arts since 2009, competed in many tournaments, and is always striving to continue learning and improve in Taekwondo, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She is very passionate about teaching martial arts and helping kids and adults achieve their goals! Martial Arts to Coach Hope is much more than just learning how to kick, punch, or grapple and much more than competing in tournaments; but it is learning amazing life skills that you continue to look back on long after your training in martial arts ends. In Physical Therapy she chose to focus on pediatric and sports medicine studying under therapists at Texas Children’s Downtown, Neurodevelopmental Therapy Center, Pathfinders Pediatrics and Texas Sports Medicine Center. Over the years Coach Hope has developed a way to incorporate her knowledge from physical therapy in all of her classes, but specifically in developing a program for pre-school age and young students. Coach Hope is so honored and blessed to work with your kids every day, teaching them what she loves, Martial Arts! She loves being able to empower kids and help them learn to work hard and believe in themselves!
Kerr Grubb - Head Taekwondo Instructor
Coach Kerr started his black belt journey with Global Martial Arts at the age of 9 a few years after moving to the United States from Kirkcaldy, Scotland! Kerr received his black belt in 2015 under Jimmy Holmes and to this day, he currently holds a 2nd Dan (2nd degree black belt). Coach Kerr has done tournaments in his time as a student for Taekwondo and currently teaches all Taekwondo classes and the sparring class. He currently trains in our BJJ and our Muay Thai classes! Outside of the gym, Kerr enjoys travelling back to Scotland to visit family, as well as vintage camping and going to concerts. Coach Kerr studies history with a political science minor at Sam Houston State University!
Evan Hansen - Taekwondo Instructor
Coach Evan started Taekwondo at the age of 6 years old! He received his black belt at the age of 10 in 2014! He currently holds a second degree under Jimmy Holmes which he received in 2018! His favorite Taekwondo move is an axe kick! Even currently trains in our Muay Thai classes and is always bettering himself as a black belt! He went to Concordia Highschool and is a student at The University of Texas studying economics/business! His favorite things to do outside of the gym is play the guitar, banjo, go fishing, and play basketball! He volunteers at student ministry at his church and loves to help the community!

Emilio Lozano - Taekwondo Instructor
Coach Emilio was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! He currently teaches in all of the taekwondo classes and assists in the sparring class! Mr. Emilio currently holds a 1st degree black belt under Jimmy Holmes! Coach Emilio is actively training Taekwondo to make sure he is the best instructor he can be! He also trains in our Muay Thai classes! Coach Emilio is a Senior in Klein ISD and plans to go to trade school after graduating high school to learn how to weld! Welding is something that he has always wanted to do and often says that it can be considered a form of art. His hobbies include playing video games and he loves to collect music records!
Lexi Halpin - Taekwondo Instructor
Coach Lexi was born in Oklahoma but raised in Texas! She holds a 1st degree black belt under Jimmy Holmes! Lexi currently teaches all the junior taekwondo classes and the little ninjas! Ms. Lexi’s favorite class to teach is actually the Lil’ Ninja class ages 4-5! She enjoys complex kicks and combos and loves to do round kicks, twist kicks and axe kicks! She started training at the age of 5 and got her blackbelt in 2019! Lexi is currently enrolled in Tomball Memorial Highschool and is a Junior! Coach Lexi is an avid member of TMHS marching band and is a part of the color guard! After high school, she plans to study radiology! Lexis other hobbies is playing the guitar and the bass in jazz band, drawing and practicing for color guard! Coach Lexi heard about taekwondo from a friend and fell in love with the sport! She aims to help other kids fall in love with taekwondo just like she did!
Doug Vaughn - Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Doug Vaughn started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Dallas TX, in 1998 at a Machado affiliate school at a time when Carlos Machado was the only black belt in this state. Since that time, he has had the opportunity to train with many of the best black belts in Texas as well as Georgia, New York and Canada.Professor Doug first started offering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes as a blue belt out of his garage. Currently he holds the rank of a 3 stripe Black Belt under Professor Eddie Avelar. Over the years Professor Doug has worked with students from age 4 to 60+ and has had great success working with students with learning disabilities as well as physical challenges. Professor Doug brings with him years of experience as well as a deep understanding of the basics and an ability to break things down and make them understandable. Outside of the gym when not at work or with his family,coach Vaughn can usually be found riding his motorcycle and is involved in a charity organization Called Bikers Against Child Abuse.
